NBC's Health Net Gets 4 Cross-Platform Partners

NBC's NBC Digital Health Network has added four content and distribution partners for its Internet, mobile and out-of-home businesses.

Wellness Wireless, a distributor of content on cell phones, will take on content from NBC Digital Health, which includes information from The Patient Channel and The Newborn Channel, two hospital waiting-room networks that were started by NBC's iVillage.com. The Patient Channel is in more than 1,600 hospitals, and The Newborn Channel is in over 1,000 hospitals.

MyLife on Demand--a free VOD health channel, that is set to debut November 2008 in 30 million digital cable homes--will carry NBC health network, including wellness education, diet, fitness, and vision care. National Cable Communications, the national advertising firm owned by cable operators Comcast, Cox Communications and Time Warner Cable, is spearheading the launch on cable systems.

NBC has also signed onto eTAGZ, a digital-media marketing company that attaches digital media to consumer products. NBC content in digital drive form will be attached to 1 million packages of cough drops sold at Rite Aid pharmacies.
