Fox's 'Kitchen' Cooks Up Success With Key Demos

Fox's Kitchen Nightmares With the networks in the last days of summer scheduling mode, Fox edged out CBS on Thursday night network programming results.

Leading the way was Fox's "Kitchen Nightmares," with a Nielsen preliminary 2.9 rating/8 share among 18-49 viewers, the best-performing network show on the night among that demo.

CBS' "Big Brother 10" was close behind those honors, with a 2.7/8 at 8 p.m. "Brother" bested NBC's "America's Got Talent" (a 2.3/8) and Fox's new reality effort "Hole in the Wall" (a 2.3/7).

CBS also did well with its summer drama "Flashpoint" at 10 p.m. with an original episode, which earned a 2.2/6. Most networks had programmed repeats.

The biggest show in terms of overall viewers was "America's Got Talent," with 9.6 million. After that come a slew of CBS' shows: "CSI" repeat at 9.03 million, "Flashpoint" (8.5 million) and "Big Brother 10" (7.9 million).

Among younger demos 18-34, "Kitchen Nightmares" was tops with a 2.7/8; Univision's "Al Diablo Con los Guapos" was next at a 2.5/8; "Hole in the Wall" had a 2.2/7; Univision's "Fuego en la Sangre" took a 2.1/6; and "Big Brother" earned a 2.0/7.

Fox averaged a 2.6/8 among 18-49 viewers for the night, with 5.7 million overall viewers. CBS earned a 2.4/7 and 8.5 million, and NBC was next at 1.8/5 and 5.0 million. Univision earned a 1.7/5 and 4.2 million; ABC took a 1.5/4 and 4.9 million; and CW finished with a 0.7/2 and 1.9 million.
