Kilar was a bit impulsive in his keynote metaphors, describing media as an “impulse industry,†not a necessity.
“Nobody needs media to survive. It’s not like food clothing or shelter,†he said to an audience full of advertising and media buying executives who make their living â€" and buy an awful lot of food, clothing and shelter â€" by peddling or buying media.
“It’s not like anyone is going to die if they don’t see ‘Speed Racer,’†he declared. Yeah, well, apparently Kilar doesn’t know much about Racer X.
