    Complying with a request from Chinese authorities, Apple has removed The New York Times’ app from its app store in China. “The move limits access to one of the few remaining channels for readers in mainland China to read The Times without resorting to special software,” The New York Times reports. “The government began blocking The Times’s websites in 2012.”

    Going forward, French companies will be required to guarantee their employees a “right to disconnect” from gadgets. The new employment law is part of an effort “to tackle the modern-day scourge of compulsive out-of-hours email checking,” The Guardian reports. Organizations with more than 50 employees are now obliged to define the rights of employees to silence their smartphones.
