Starcom USA is merging two
units of its sprawling research operations and has tapped John Lowell, now vice president and director of research and analytics, to lead it.
The new Research & Analytics group
melds the insights and analytics unit with syndicated research. Starcom said the move is aimed at spurring "new, client-specific research initiatives through a disciplined discovery process."
Among the group's responsibilities will be designing and analyzing sources of information to drive "client value." That sector will be led, under Lowell, by Vice President and Research Director Judy
Bahary. The new group is also charged with creating and developing new research products.
"The goal is that our Research & Analytics team will do for human experience what a good search engine
does for the Internet -- act as a portal that that will help us find what we need in a growing universe of available knowledge," said Starcom CEO John Muszynski.
Lowell, who was the agency's
vice president/director of captivation, will report to Steve Buerger, president and chief strategy officer.
Before joining Starcom, Lowell was vice president and director of innovation at Arc
Worldwide, where he was active in advising clients on how to capitalize on emerging technologies.
