One of broadcast and
cable networks' growing public service marketing efforts will be getting underway soon --- for Earth Day.
Fox Broadcasting is one of several networks blitzing airwaves with
specially themed TV shows, on-air graphics and instructional segments about being more "green."
Fox's overall corporate efforts, under its "Green It. Mean It" theme, are intended to reduce the
network's impact on the world's climate and become carbon neutral by 2010. Fox's efforts will kick off this Sunday and extend until April 22, Earth Day.
Fox talent will be featured in "Green
Tips" segments on the network, its affiliated stations, Fox.com and more than 2,000 radio stations. Talent will come from "24," "American Idol," "Bones," "Family Guy," "Fringe," "Lie to Me" and
upcoming new series "Glee" and "Sit Down Shut Up."

Fox.com will have a dedicated
microsite -- www.fox.com/greenitmeanit -- featuring the "Green Tips." These segments will also be distributed daily via Twitter, MySpace and other social-networking and new media sites.
Fox will
also send a dozen vegetable seed packets to radio personalities in the Top 25 markets, as part of the network's monthly mailer honoring 20 years of "The Simpsons."
