Shoppers Still Lovin' On Walmart

Wal-Mart Stores continues to be the recession's biggest retail winner. A new study from the Gordman Group reports that 54% of those surveyed plan to do more shopping at Walmart stores for the remainder of the year.

All Internet stores were the next-biggest winner, with a 27% increase, followed by Target, with a 25% increase; Dollar Tree, with a 17% gain; and Costco, with a 14% gain. The biggest losers? Sears, with 23% saying they plan to spend less there; Macy's, with 25%; all catalogs, 21%; JC Penney, 21%, and Kmart, 20%.--Sarah Mahoney
