HDNet To Carry UFL Games

A new football league with an uncertain future has inked a deal with a second network to carry its games this fall. With Versus already on board for eight games, HDNet will now offer five.

The UFL says it will have four teams -- in Orlando, San Francisco, New York and Las Vegas. It will debut in October and have its championship game Thanksgiving weekend on Versus.

Still, the league will no doubt struggle to garner viewers with both college and pro football games so prevalent during the season. Big-time college games often air on Thursday and Saturday nights -- when the UFL is expected to offer its contests.

Frank Vuono, UFL COO, said HDNet will also offer some coverage of the league's training camps and other highlight shows in addition to games.
