Kagan, MediaBiz Join Forces

Research firms SNL Kagan and Media Business Corp. (known as MediaBiz) said they have entered into a partnership where Kagan clients will be able to receive video subscriber data by market. The data covers subscribers to cable, satellite and telco TV systems.

Kagan will make MediaBiz's "market-level video subscriber data" available to clients as part of the arrangement. Kagan will make the MediaBiz data available as it is updated quarterly. Its analysts will release it coupled with its traditional trend analyses.

Dan Seideman, director of Kagan, states that "geographic video subscriber data [added] into our product" helps foster a more complete "resource for information related to the multichannel sector."

MediaBiz President Robert Lehmann stated that the partnership could lead to development of "other metrics and services" for clients.

Kagan, in turn, stated that "future plans include the development of interactive online services around this data, as well as expansion into other metrics beyond video."

This detailed data, along with proprietary analysis of geographic trends from SNL Kagan's trusted industry experts, will be available to SNL Kagan Unlimited clients through their existing subscriptions. It will also supplement SNL Kagan's existing news, data, research and projections on the U.S. multichannel space.
