Lowe's Expands Military Discount

  • February 11, 2010
While both Lowe's and the Home Depot have long used 10% discounts to woo veterans during promotional periods, Lowe's says it will make the 10% discount permanent, available to all active, reserve, retired or disabled veterans and their family members, on a daily basis.

The Mooresville, N.C.-based retailer, which says it will limit the discount to purchases of $5,000 or less, also says it tapped the USO as one of the beneficiaries of its Lowe's Employee Giving Campaign, launched last month. The company says more than 12,000 of its employees are military veterans or reservists.--Sarah Mahoney
