Fenway Extends Boston Sports Radio Alliance

The Fenway Sports Group, owned by the Boston Red Sox parent but involved in multiple non-baseball businesses, said it has extended a five-year contract to manage the radio broadcasts for Boston College sports.

The new deal with ISP Sports, a sales and marketing rep, covers football and men's basketball games and is extraordinary in its length: It now runs through 2019. ISP manages the radio networks of 40 colleges nationwide, including Duke and Wake Forest. It also is the sales and marketing representative for more than 60 major college athletic programs, conferences and partners, including eight in the ACC.

FSG has a sprawling rep firm operation, involved in sponsorship sales for properties such as an English Premier League soccer team and a profession bull riders' association. Its parent company also owns 80% of the New England Sports Network, which carries Red Sox games on TV.

FSG's arrangement with ISP has it handling sales and production for the radio network. Stations include Boston's prominent WEEI, while stretching from Vermont through New Hampshire to Maine.

Separately, FSG said it has a new deal to keep B.C. games on Entercom's WEEI through 2015.
