Celestial Seasonings has introduced the first, raw, organic Kombucha fermented tea beverages line.

The line is the first to "augment Kombucha's naturally occurring enzymes, probiotics and antioxidants with all-natural functional ingredients that provide an additional, targeted wellness boost," according to the brand's maker, The Hain Celestial Group, Inc.

"Kombucha has gained a small but loyal following thanks to its health- and wellness-supporting qualities, but we've enhanced its palatability and appeal so that more people can enjoy its nutritional benefits," said Celestial Seasonings general manager Peter Burns.

The five Kombucha flavors, as described by Hain, are Meyer Lemon Ginger (prebiotics and ginger to support digestive health and meyer lemon for a sweet-tart taste), Superfruit (vitamin C to support immunity and acai, goji and pomegranate for a rich flavor), Berry Guava (green tea extract and B vitamins to support healthy metabolism and huckleberry, blueberry and guava for tangy sweetness), Pomelo Citrus (green tea extract and B vitamins to support healthy metabolism and huckleberry, blueberry and guava for tangy sweetness) and Tropical Blend (spirulina for concentrated green food nutrients and mango and other flavors for a tropical taste).

The line will be available as of April in Whole Foods and other natural foods stores. Suggested retail prices range from $2.99 to $3.49 for a 16-ounce bottle.--Karlene Lukovitz
