In his first move as CEO of McCann Worldgroup, Nick Brien has tapped a top Universal McCann executive, Daryl Lee, to oversee the global ad agency network's strategic planning. Lee, whose title will be
chief integration architect of McCann Worldgroup, had been head of global strategy at UM.
Brien stated that the role was created to ensure that McCann's clients' brand activities "pre-store,
in-store and post-store" are managed consistently and according to the agency's strategic planning process.
Jim Elms will succeed Lee as head of global strategy at UM, from executive vice
president-director of context planning at WPP's Grey Advertising unit.
As part of the reorganization at McCann Worldgroup, Brien also promoted Lee Daley to chief strategy officer for McCann
Erickson Worldwide from chief strategist for McCann EMEA and global director of strategic solutions
Eric Einhorn continues as McCann Worldgroup chief strategy officer, adding a new corporate
planning function.
