The new Leone d'Oro brand includes red, white and sparkling varietals imported from the Italian regions of Piemonte, Toscana, Fruili and Le Marche, retailing for between $12 and $20 per bottle.
OSIA is the largest (more than 600,000 members/supporters and 650 chapters) and longest-established (1905) national organization for people of Italian heritage in the U.S. The deal was brokered by Broadstreet Licensing Group.
OSIA's brand power has resulted in more than 1,000 cases being pre-sold to Votto's distribution partners prior to the official U.S. market introduction, according to the company.
The new wine brand was announced and featured at the Sons of Italy's 22nd Annual National Education & Leadership Awards Gala in Washington, D.C., on May 26. The event honored former President Bill Clinton and Capt. Anthony Odierno, and featured Quincy Jones, Italian President Giorgio Napolitano and actor Joe Mantegna.
