Just An Online Minute... The Week That Was 2010 Internet Week New York

2010 Internet Week Wrap Up

Now that Internet Week is nearly over, you can get back to your regular week parties.  Send invitations to kelly@mediapost.com and get in Just An Online Minute!

Why does today feel like a continuation of the week before, not just a Monday on its own?  Oh that's right, because last week was the bulk of Internet Week and today is really the official last day of the Web world shenanigans.  In fact, I'm capping off my coverage with The 14th Annual Webby Awards and after-party -- that is, if my stomach contents stay indoors rather than outdoors.

Let's recap the week before, shall we?

Monday:

Internet Week Press Preview Breakfast: not really a breakfast, sort of a preview, definitely press.  My first peek into Internet Week HQ reveals adorable designs, nerdy prototypes, and people to help tickle your brain.

Made in NY Awards: not officially an Internet Week event, BUT Mayor Bloomberg did mention it and DMD and Neil Vogel were there as well as a tiny trickle of 'netty folks.

Internet Week Official Cocktail Party: Held in the expo hall, this party was sort of like IW's bar mitzvah.  No turning back now, you're a big boy.

Tuesday:

The AICP Awards and Show AKA, pinch me because there is no way I'm at a party in the MoMA sculpture garden after dark.  A blissful trip through independent commercial production, reps, and agencies - surrounded by untouchable sculptures and people sneaking cigs.  Magic!

Wednesday:

IDGTechNetwork celebrated another year of existence! In this still-wrinkly job economy, I say celebrate every day.

Ustream and BUZZMEDIA say PopEverything! Little burgers, mini wieners, and cast members from "The Real Housewives" franchise made this one of the most goofily entertaining parties of the week.  Also? I'm a loser.

Thursday:

Rehab.  So many parties to choose from, like the Topguest launch at The Standard pool and the dumbdumb launch at the IAC -- but sometimes, you just have to say no.

Friday:

Pimms and Pints at Ace Hotel. It was a warm and cozy way to shut down the week.

Tonight is the star- and normal-folk-studded Internerd award show, The Webby Awards, and while I'm in to cover the red carpet, the show, and the after-party, I am at the whim of whatever goblin is making me want to hurl all over the Aflac duck.  Cross your fingers.
