Viewers Wooed By ABC's 'Bachelorette'

Closing in on the end of the first month of summer reveals that established reality shows are still top draws over fresh scripted dramas.

Two hours of ABC's "The Bachelorette" between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. continued to rise -- now at a Nielsen preliminary 2.7 rating/9 share among 18-49 viewers, one-tenth of a rating point improvement from the week before. ABC's 10 p.m. reality effort "True Beauty" also climbed slightly to a 2.0/6. This gave ABC a Monday night win with a 2.5/8 against 18-49 viewers.

Fox was the only other network of note to offer up fresh programming, but its tag team of "Lie To Me" (at 8 p.m.) and "The Good Guys" (at 9 p.m.) -- two scripted dramas -- couldn't keep pace.

"Lie" was at a 1.8/6, down a bit from the week before. "Guys" was at a 1.2/3, also off its week-ago numbers. That landed Fox at a 1.5/5 for the night among 18-49 viewers.

CBS again gets credit for doing the most with very little. The network ran repeats all night, but its comedies still did well. "The Big Bang Theory" took in a healthy 2.5/7 and "Two and a Half Men" earned a 2.3/7, the second- and third-best-rated shows of the night, respectively. CBS was at a 1.9/6 for the night for 18-49 viewers, good for second place.

NBC offered up a repeat hour of "Last Comic Standing," which drew a 1.2/4 at 8 p.m. and then an original at 9 p.m., which took in a 1.8/5. "Persons Unknown" became more unknown to viewers, down almost 10% to a 1.1/3. NBC took a 1.3/4 overall for the night, coming in at fifth place behind Fox.

Univision did a steady job with a 1.6/5 for third place on Monday night; the CW was at 0.3/1.
