Panasonic has signed on as an official sponsor of the U.S. Open. As a sponsor the company will help CBS Sports produce 3D versions of all the main Arthur Ashe Stadium matches broadcast in high-definition Labor Day weekend, and the weekend following, which includes the finals.
The 3D telecasts will be available on DirecTV's n|3D channel, which will be branded "powered by Panasonic." Panasonic will also have 3D viewing galleries on-site at the U.S. Open, as well as other viewing spots around the venue, as well as new digital signage in the three stadiums and at most of the Open's outer courts.
The three-year sponsorship also includes participation in Arthur Ashe Kids Day, the U.S. Open's tennis and entertainment celebration that services that unofficial opening of the tournament.
