Internet Broadcasting To Serve More Trad Media Properties

Internet Broadcasting, which manages Web sites for a slew of local TV stations, has a deal with tech provider CoreMedia that could allow it to begin more widely serving sites linked with newspapers, radio stations and other media properties.

The CoreMedia content management system has not been used in North America before, but could help Internet Broadcasting with developing editorial designs and interfaces for sites and improved analytics to drive sales. The aim is easier management of myriad sites.

Jeff Kimball, COO of Internet Broadcasting, said publishers are "looking to upgrade" current platforms to ones "with a proven ability to scale and unlock innovation." He added: "IB can now serve all those needs better than ever -- not only for TV stations, but for newspapers, radio stations, magazines and multimedia conglomerates."

IB said it would "install CoreMedia's CMS platform in a cloud environment, where it will become the foundation for IB's SaaS publishing platform, iPublish."

IB works with station groups such as Cox, Hearst and Meredith.
