Dr Pepper has launched "Dr Pepper Football," an online video game, in partnership with entertainment software company Electronic Arts Inc.

Timed to sync with the college football season, the game pits Dr Pepper against Diet Dr Pepper on a customized playing field. PC users can insert a code on bottles of the products to download the game from the Dr Pepper Web site.

Players can choose specially designed uniforms for their players and use additional Dr Pepper codes to unlock hidden game content, such as custom playbooks and halftime mini-games such as passing, running or punting challenges.  

The game also includes social networking feeds.
