Armenians To Turkish Airlines: No On Kobe

  • December 20, 2010
Armenian Americans are protesting L.A. Lakers star Kobe Bryant signing as spokesperson for Turkish Airlines, which would put him in TV and print commericals and public appearances. It doesn't help matters that Los Angeles has a large, very influential Armenian American community comprising scholars, stars, celebs (Kardashians, Cher, etc.), lawyers (Robert Kardashian, who passed in 2003) and on and on.

There is reportedly a new media and Internet campaign urging Bryant to back out of the deal. As for the White House ever actually asking Turkey to apologize? Congress has had resolutions to that effect shot down over and over. Most recently Kim Kardashian has been lobbying for a new proposal. Reportedly she asked 5.6 million Twitter followers to call Pelosi to urge her to schedule an Armenian Genocide Resolution vote.
