Taco Bell, under pressure from a threatened boycott of the chain launched by a parents' advertising watchdog group, has announced it is pulling its advertising from MTV's controversial
"Skins" teen show.
The QSR chain said it is now moving its advertising to other MTV programs aimed at 18-to-34-year-olds, its core target demographic.
The Parents
Television Council labeled "Skins" the "most dangerous program ever" for teens/children, citing depictions of sexual activities among young teens and numerous references to drugs
and alcohol. In addition to its Taco Bell boycott threat, the group wants a federal investigation into whether the show violates child pornography laws.
