RadioShack Offers Livestrong Headphones

HeadphonesRadioShack is teaming up with high-performance headphone manufacturer Monster to launch the new iSport Livestrong branded in-ear headphones for athletes and enthusiasts.

The headphones feature Livestrong’s signature bright yellow on both the cable and earpieces. They will be available nationwide and online at RadioShack starting in February for a suggested retail price of $179.95, followed by rollout at other retailers later this year.

In addition to RadioShack, other Livestrong sponsors include Nike, Embassy Suites Hotels, Nissan and Oakley.

RadioShack and its customers and suppliers have contributed more than $10 million to Livestrong since 2009, says Scott Young, executive vice president and chief merchandise officer for RadioShack Corp.

Donations are generated through in-store customer giving, marketing and sales of Livestrong-branded products in stores, and other corporate donations. In pro cycling, the RadioShack Nissan Trek Cycling Team is also closely identified with Livestrong, spreading the message to hundreds of millions of people worldwide over the last two years.

A portion of the proceeds from sales of the headphones will be donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation, created in 1997 by the cancer survivor and champion cyclist to serve people affected by cancer. The foundation is known as a leader in the global movement on behalf of 28 million people around the world living with cancer today.

The sweat-proof and washable in-ear headphones feature a variety of innovations that set them apart from all others. Monster addressed one of the most common issues faced by active headphone wearers: the problem of in-ear headphones that slip out during strenuous use. Monster solved this problem with the patented proprietary in-ear clip anchor system, which fits the curve of the inner ear securely.
