NY Post Ignites Kindle Fire App

The New York Post is the latest publication to introduce an app for the Kindle Fire. The app for the Amazon tablet will feature The Post’s famed (or infamous) Page Six section, an exclusive gallery of the day’s top photos and access to news, sports, business and entertainment stories. It will also include integration with Facebook, Twitter and email. The Post move comes on the heels of USA Today releasing its own dedicated Kindle Fire app and signals more confidence the device will become widespread.

The device launched in November with a newsstand selling subscriptions and issues to 400 digital magazine and newspapers from publishers such as Conde Nast, Hearst and Meredith. But others have since created specialized apps optimized for the Kindle Fire, which Amazon has said was its best selling product over the holidays.
