New iPad Features Sharper Screen, 4G

  • March 7, 2012

Apple’s new tablet entry, “The New iPad,” (seriously, that’s what they called it) will feature a higher-resolution screen and be 4G capable on the Verizon Wireless and AT&T networks.

At a presentation in San Francisco on Wednesday, Apple executives unveiled the new device, which will be available beginning March 16 at a starting price of $499 (about the same price as the iPad 2). The new iPad will also feature a faster processor.

The iPad 2 will still be available, for those who don’t need the latest and greatest, at $399 for a Wi-Fi only version with 16GB of memory.

Shortly after the presentation, Apple updated its web site with the words, “Resolutionary. The new iPad,” and a new television ad showcasing the screen’s resolution. “When a screen becomes this good,” boasts the spot, “it’s simply you and the things you care about.”
