About.com launched Monday the "About.com. Do more." ad campaign prompting people to take action in their everyday lives through practical advice that offers tips on vacations, recipes, parenting
and other life experiences.
About.com reached more than 67 million unique users in the United States in March, according to comScore, March 2012.
The initials ads appearing in
The New York Times and online publications will feature images of people doing everyday things. Future ads will highlight About's focus in a variety of categories. The About.com tagline has also
been updated to reflect the campaign theme. Out-of-home placements for the campaign, including bus shelters, phone kiosks and street teams, will run in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Los
Angeles, Seattle and Detroit.
If the campaign sounds a bit familiar, take a look at Microsoft Bing's latest marketing campaign with
DoSomthing.org. The search engine partnered with DoSomething.org to launch the Bing Summer of Doing, designed to inspire people to do amazing things, including giving back to their
communities.
