Barnes & Noble Shows Off Nook Lines

  • November 8, 2012

With tablets on many people’s holiday shopping and wish lists, Barnes & Noble is launching a new advertising campaign to support its Nook HD and Nook HD +.

The spot, from ad agency Mullen, shows off the device’s “Nook Profiles” feature, which allows people to create different profiles for each member of the family. The spot follows a 7-inch Nook through a house, as each family member tries to keep the device to him- or herself (A young girl uses the device to read a book in the closet, while the dad tries to read a magazine), only to be interrupted by another family member.

“When we set out to develop a campaign for NOOK HD and NOOK HD+, there were so many innovative aspects worthy of attention – from spectacular resolution, weight and design to brand-new content and shopping features – but only 30 seconds to fit them into,” said Glenn Kaplan, Creative Director at Barnes & Noble, in a statement. “We ultimately zeroed in on something we knew was important to our customers and unique to these devices: they are at once totally personal and completely shareable. We recognized the opportunity to create a story these customers could relate to.”
