Sirius XM To Broadcast Super Bowl In 9 Languages

SiriusRadioThis year’s Super Bowl XLVII will be a little more international in flavor, thanks to Sirius XM, which announced plans to broadcast live coverage of the game in nine languages. Subscribers can also listen to dedicated broadcasts covering the championship game from the perspective of their teams.
 
Sirius XM will broadcast live coverage of the game from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in various languages, including Spanish (Sirius 148, XM 228); Hungarian (Sirius 94, XM 230); Chinese (Sirius 128, XM 231); German broadcast (Sirius 123, XM 232); Dutch (Sirius 134, XM 233); Portuguese broadcast (Sirius 135, XM 234); Japanese broadcast (Sirius 136, XM 235); and French (Sirius 93, XM 236).

A BBC Radio broadcast is available at Sirius 91, XM 229.
 
The satcaster will air its main national broadcast at Sirius 88, XM 88. For team coverage, Ravens fans can listen to a dedicated broadcast at Sirius 92, XM 225, while 49ers fans can tune into Sirius 86, XM 226. All the broadcasts will be streamed online.
 
While TV tends to dominate the media buzz surrounding the Super Bowl, the sporting event also attracts a substantial radio audience. According to data from Dial Global, 23 million Americans listened to the live radio broadcast of Super Bowl XLVI in February 2012, when the New York Giants beat the New England Patriots 21-17.
 
In January 2012, nearly 23 million Americans listened to the final playoff games, pitting the Ravens against the Patriots and the Giants against the 49ers.
