comScore Expands Device Sample Sizes

After launching its cross-platform measurement service in October, comScore said it has expanded the sample sizes for audience tracking across devices. It now includes more than 1 million smartphone users, 400,000 tablet owners and 150,000 households with connected devices, such as game consoles and smart TVs.

According to a comScore release, the enhanced Media Metrix Multi-Platform service offers accurate measurement of audience overlap across devices, improved geographic reporting and campaign delivery by local market, and detailed reporting within each media type.

Data issued by comScore in October showed the new combined reported across the Web, mobile Web and apps bolstered the ranking of some properties, while reducing those of others.

Mobilecentric sites, like Pandora, Twitter, Yelp and Instagram were among the biggest beneficiaries of the new measurement system.
