NASCAR Gala For Autism At Met

In a kind of weird juxtaposition, NASCAR will be at the Metropolitan Museum of Art tonight for a cause marketing event supporting a partnership with Autism Speaks and Speeding for a Cure.

The museum will hold a gala benefiting the autism community, hosted by ESPN commentator Mike Tirico.
Speeding for a Cure will feature drivers and executives from NASCAR to help raise funds and awareness for Autism Speaks and Gillen Brewer School, which specializes in educating children with challenging, and often multiple disabilities.

Drivers on hand will include Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Kasey Kahne, Greg Biffle, Clint Bowyer, Darrell Wallace Jr., Kyle Larson, Nelson Piquet Jr and NASCAR Hall of Famer Bobby Allison. Amy and Brian France, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, NASCAR will also be there.

Now the thing is, if they'd gone across the street to the Guggenheim, they could have had some fun on the spiral ramp. Someone would have to clean the tire marks though.
