Kohl’s says it is continuing its National Go Green Event, and this year, the Menomonee Falls, Wisc.-based retailer says it plans to spend $2 million to support
nonprofits working with kids on environmentally-focused efforts. Past efforts have included planting sustainable gardens, installing rainwater harvest systems, supporting urban farms and community
gardens, and combing beaches for trash. Now in its fourth year, the program, timed to coincide with Earth Day and National Volunteers Week, has contributed $6 million in grants to local
nonprofits.
