'Cops' Exits Fox, Show Is Booked At Spike

Cops-AThe pioneer reality show "Cops," a 25-year stalwart on Fox, is moving to Spike TV starting this September. Viewers will see new episodes of the longtime series, in which they ride along with police, busy pursuing an array of criminal activity.

Spike TV will keep "Cops" in its time slot of Saturday nights at 8 p.m. The network will also have access to a part of  "Cops" huge library. A similar show, "America's Most Wanted," also ended its Fox tenure last year.

Kevin Kay, president of Spike TV, called "Cops" a "remarkable series," noting it had sustained strong ratings in the 18-49 demo for nearly three decades, which he said was a "monumental achievement in television."
