Menchie's, the self-serve frozen yogurt franchise chain, is running its first promotion tied to an entertainment property: "The Smurfs 2," from Columbia Pictures and Sony Pictures Animation.

From July 1-31, Menchie's Frozen Yogurt is offering a limited-time Smurfberry Blast flavor and three Smurf-themed special toppings. This and the chain's other flavors can be served in purchasable "mushroom-capped" reusable cups, while supplies last.

The chain is also offering other Smurf-themed items and activities.

A video for the Menchie's promotion -- which includes a promo for the Smurfs movie (in theaters July 31) at the end -- is posted on YouTube.

Menchie's currently has more than 300 locations in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Australia, Puerto Rico, Israel, Guam and Jordan, and expects to increase that number to 400 this year.
