A quartet of
sponsors are returning to Univision’s youth awards show later this week. Covergirl, Dr. Pepper, Post Foods’ Honey Bunches of Oats and T-Mobile will have various links to the
programming.
“Premios Juventud” (Youth Awards) covering pop culture is in its 10th year. A pre-show from a blue carpet will precede the event on the network.
Covergirl has linked with nominee Becky G, where a digital video series will chronicle her preparation for the show. The brand will also back a block party outside the Miami venue hosting the
event.
Dr. Pepper will link with the awards, in part by sponsoring a $75,000 worth of academic scholarships for a pair of high school seniors, who will attend the show and have their names
mentioned during it.
Post Foods is backing a “breakfast with the stars” segment on a Univision morning show leading up to the event. T-Mobile is sponsoring a contest to discover
promising DJs, some of whom will appear in the blue carpet coverage.
Among the show nominees are Pitbull, Bruno Mars, Lionel Messi, Marc Anthony and Sofia Vergara.
Univision says
last year’s broadcast averaged 4.1 million viewers.
