Google Leads, Top Web Sites Reflected In Earnings Reports

Google, Yahoo and Microsoft, the top three companies on comScore's monthly top U.S. Web site ranking report, released Q2 2013 earnings reports the same week. Each provides insights into the numbers released Friday from the data company.

Google came in No. 1 in comScore's monthly top U.S. Web site ranking based on data from the comScore Media Metrix service. At 224,318 monthly unique visitors in June 2013, Google's network of sites maintained its lead.

The increased Web traffic supports Google's numbers reported Thursday. The company said its network of sites generated $8.87 billion -- or 68% of total Google revenue -- in the second quarter of 2013, compared with the year-ago quarter. The company gained from partner sites' $3.19 billion, or 24% of the total revenue, up 7%.

Yahoo came in at No. 2 with 188,727. Better products will lead to higher traffic across Yahoo sites, per Marissa Mayer, Yahoo CEO. During the Q2 2013 earnings call Thursday, she said "renewed traffic growth in the face of multiple years of decline is, to my knowledge, unprecedented among industry players that operate with billions of page views."

Since June, Yahoo's traffic continues to grow, not only on desktop, but from mobile devices. Yahoo apps have surpassed 340 million monthly users.

On comScore's June U.S. Web site ranking, Microsoft ranked No. 3 most trafficked site with 174,998 million unique views. Facebook followed at 114,659 million, and AOL rounded out the top five with 113,352 million.

    Enquiries:

Could you let me know if the unique visitors number for Google in the second paragraph (224,318) and Yahoo in the fourth paragraph (188,277) are in millions, just like that of Microsoft, Facebook and AOL in the last paragraph?

    Thank you.
