After a 15-year
mass-market advertising hiatus,
Grey Poupon launched a TV spot, “The Chase,” which earned the brand an Emmy nomination. The award went to Canon -- but that didn’t stop Grey
Poupon from asking fans on Facebook and Twitter to contribute a line to the first-ever crowd-sourced Emmy speech. And last night, following the Emmy broadcast, the brand
posted this video, created by
CP+B. Lasting close to seven minutes, the video begins with a 45-second
explanation of how the brand’s loyal fans wrote Grey Poupon’s concession speech. Once the orchestral music begins to play, a sign that the winners needs to wrap up their speeches, Grey
Poupon just gets started, giving the online stage to its fans -- for six minutes.
