Apple today sent out invitations for an event Oct. 22 in San Francisco at which the company is expected to unveil the latest versions of the iPad. The full-sized Apple tablet, first released in April 2010, is expected to get its first major redesign since the iPad 2, while the iPad mini will likely get the sharper “Retina” display already in the larger model. The event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater.
