CBS Gets 'Bang,' ABC, Fox Hold Steady

The Big Bang TheoryCBS retained its No. 1 spot for one of the last big Thursday night prime-time periods of the fourth quarter. Looking at preliminary Nielsen results, CBS was at an identical 2.5 rating/7 share among 18-49 viewers versus the week before. CBS was a bit higher in total average viewers at 10.6 million, up from 10.2 million.

Likewise, ABC and Fox took in similar results in key viewing groups as their week-ago airing: ABC was at a 2.1/6 among 18-49 viewers, the same versus a week before. It also posted higher overall total viewers with 7.04 million, up from 6.89 million. Fox was at a 1.4/4, the same as the week before. Fox took in nearly one million more overall viewers -- 4.9 million versus 3.8 million.

NBC was the only network that took a major hit week-to-week -- down to a 1.1/3 from a 1.9/5 among 18-49 viewers. Total viewers were nearly cut in half -- down to 3.5 million from 6.6 million. A week ago, NBC aired a highly rated episode from “The Voice.”

This week, NBC’s best came from its 10 p.m. drama “Parenthood,” with a 1.3/4 in the 18-49 demographic. Its two new comedies posted its lowest results so far. Both “Sean Saves The World” and “The Michael J. Fox” show earned a 1.0/3 among 18-49 viewers.

Top shows of the night were CBS’ “Big Bang Theory” with a 5.1/16; ABC’s “Scandal” at 2.9/9; CBS’ “The Millers," 2.7/8; ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy," 2.6/7; and CBS’ “The Crazy Ones” and “Two and a Half Men,” each with a 2.1/3. Univision was at a 1.2/4 (3.2 million overall average viewers), while CW was at a 1.0/3 in 18-49 (2.2 million overall average viewers)
