Programmatic video advertising platform BrightRoll today announced a strategic partnership with Nielsen. Through the partnership, BrightRoll will integrate Nielsen Online Campaign Ratings into its console, providing new measurements and analytics to BrightRoll customers. The purpose of the ratings are to provide online video advertisers with TV-like measurement.
Tod Sacerdoti, CEO and founder of BrightRoll, said advertisers have not been able to validate the effectiveness of digital video campaigns across online and TV in real-time, which is what the Nielsen ratings provide.
Megan Clarken, EVP of global product leadership at Nielsen, claimed that Nielsen Online Campaign Ratings are "quickly becoming the standard audience measurement for digital advertising." LiveRail uses the ratings, and some of Nielsen's partners that have the data integrated into their offerings are starting to receive Media Rating Council accreditation.
