Clear Channel Taps BandPage To Enhance Music Content

Clear Channel Media and Entertainment is planning to integrate information about artists into iHeartRadio and 840 radio station Web sites across the country, courtesy of a partnership with BandPage, which maintains over half a million profile pages for bands and musicians.
Beginning in the second quarter of 2014, Clear Channel’s iHeartRadio platform and station sites will get artist profile content, including bios, photos, album and single release information, and tour dates with links to buy tickets, all curated by artists themselves on their own BandPage profiles.

BandPage also enables direct interaction between musicians and their fans, and supports an array of social and e-commerce integrations, including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pandora, Rhapsody, Vevo, Xbox Music, Tumblr, Live Nation, and WordPress.
BandPage CEO J Sider stated: “Partnering with Clear Channel to provide artist-curated content and offers to iHeartRadio and Clear Channel's radio station Web sites represents an incredibly powerful way to help artists grow their fan bases, drive additional revenues and, ultimately, build their careers.”
Last month, Clear Channel announced new original equipment manufacturer partnerships for dashboard integration of iHeartRadio. The new OEM partnerships include deals integrating iHeartRadio into Jaguar Land Rover 2014 vehicles equipped with Bosch SoftTec's InControl Apps platform; Volvo vehicles equipped with Sensus Connect; and Kia vehicles equipped with UVO.
These moves come amid increasing competition in the digital radio space in general, including Apple’s launch of iTunes Radio in September 2013 and the debut of a new, ad-supported mobile music service from Spotify. Also last year, national broadcast radio group Cumulus took a stake in the parent company of Rdio, Pulser Media, in exchange for exclusive content, media and on-air promotional commitments over a five-year period.

TargetSpot, which operates a digital radio ad network, merged with Radionomy, which operates a platform for digital radio broadcasters and producers in the U.S. and Europe
