MediaLink 'Demonstrates Focus' On Programmatic, Hires Former Omnicom Exec Spiegel

MediaLink, an influential marketing and media consultancy, on Monday announced the appointment of Matt Spiegel as SVP and general manager of marketing and technology solutions -- a new position at the company.

Spiegel joins MediaLink after serving as SVP and GM of the Americas for MediaMath, a demand-side platform (DSP). Prior to MediaMath, he was at Omnicom, where he held several roles including CEO of Omnicom Media Group Digital. He oversaw the launch of Omnicom’s trading desk, Accuen.

“Programmatic is at the forefront of conversation within virtually every media company today,” said Michael Kassan, chairman and CEO of MediaLink. “Matt offers a unique combination of category expertise and historical industry perspective to help guide clients through and benefit from the coming evolutions in the space.”



A company representative told Real-Time Daily that MediaLink created the new role to “demonstrate a focus” in the area of marketing and tech solutions and tapped Spiegel because he has “deep experience applying data and tech to marketing, not just thinking or talking about it.”

“For companies across the marketing and media spectrum, the next big area of need is to understand how to infuse their marketing or media business with technology automation and rich intelligence about their consumers,” Spiegel said in an earlier statement. “This includes all things ‘programmatic’ and collectively is a set of topics I’ve focused on most of my career.”

Spiegel’s appointment is effective immediately, and he will lead the company’s new Chicago office, per a release.
