CineSport Will Curate, Distribute Sports Content For Anthem Media's Fight, Fantasy Properties

Major sports-targeted content creator and distributor CineSport has partnered with Anthem Media Group’s Fantasy Sports Network, Fight Network and SportsGrid.com to curate, produce and distribute those sites and content across the Web.

The arrangement allows CineSport to provide exposure of material from the Anthem sites to eight million sports fans who access CineSport content, typically through major newspaper Web sites, where CineSport creates exclusive and often hyperlocal reporting and commentary.

CineSport delivers content to 400 Web sites. Last week, it announced distribution deals with newspaper sites operated by Advance Digital; a deal with the St. Louis Post-Dispatch owner, Lee Enterprises; and an arrangement with MSN, which will feature it on its Bing app and on the MSN sports page.

CineSport will now help develop Anthem’s SportsGrid from the general sports site it is now into a video portal. Local journalists now providing material for CineSport will also begin creating content for the Anthem sites, and CineSport will curate and distribute Anthem sites.

“CineSport’s ability to create and distribute video content across platforms is unparalleled in the industry,” said Leonard Asper, founder and CEO of Anthem Media Group Inc., in a press release. Greg Winik, CineSport’s CEO, called the arrangement “a perfect fit for the expansion of CineSport’s network” and said Anthem’s TV outlets “offer CineSport an excellent complement and cross-promotion opportunity to our web, mobile and social distribution.”

Among its properties, Anthem operates Fight Network, which broadcasts combat sports events in the U.S., Canada and and over 30 other countries.
