Genesis Media, an online video tech company, on Tuesday announced its platform now has supply-side platform (SSP) capabilities, letting publishers tap into programmatic demand and private marketplace deals.
The company claims publishers can use its platform to sell video ad inventory programmatically to “every major trading desk and DSP,” a Genesis Media representative said.
There is no real-time bidding (RTB) currently supported by Genesis’ updated platform. Instead, it will support “programmatic direct” trading.
A trading desk, for example, could buy via Genesis on a guaranteed inventory basis with set price amounts and dates, or on a performance basis, in which pricing would be pre-determined by Genesis clients. On performance-based trades, trading desks or DSPs could see the listed prices on Genesis and buy inventory with no RFP or set end date to the campaign.
