WPP’s GroupM has appointed David Michael as Chief Information Officer in North America. The position is new and the firm said it would strengthen the company’s information technology operations.
As CIO, Michael is responsible for IT delivery in North America. From authorizations to dashboards to human resources to finance, he will work with GroupM and its agencies to identify, enable and execute data-driven solutions which provide tech advantages and deliver efficiency.
Michael will report to GroupM CEO Kelly Clark and GroupM Worldwide Chief Information Officer Joe Seibert.

Michael is a 20-year IT veteran. Prior to joining GroupM, he spent six years at UBM, serving as CIO of UBM Tech, EVP of Global Technology for UBM PLC, and CIO of UBM TechWeb. He has held IT leadership positions at PR Newswire, PR Newswire Europe, and Oxford Information Technology in the United Kingdom.
Michael will be based at GroupM’s offices in New York.
