MediaCom took "Best In Show" and also won
the New/Emerging/Experimental Media category during the 2015 Creative Media Awards in New York City Wednesday night. Fittingly for the day of the week, Horizon Media won the Media Plan category
for its "Caleb the Camel" campaign for GEICO.
Other than MediaCom, the only other agencies to win more than one category were Hill Holliday (which took top honors in the Creative category for
its "#DunkinReplay" campaign for Dunkin' Donuts and in the TV/Interactive/Enhanced TV category for John Hancock's "Life Comes Next" campaign) and Mediahub/Mullen (which won the Online Branding
category for American Greetings and Research/Consumer Insights category for Bose).
Acceptance remarks were generally short, polite and to the point, except for OMD's Leslie Rasimas, who while
accepting top honors in the Performance category for the agency's "Someday" campaign for Tourism Australia, made a dig at rival Starcom MediaVest's win in the Mobile category for its Montana Office of
Tourism campaign.
"We encourage you to come to Australia over Montana, anyday," she said tongue in cheek. Perhaps she meant "someday."
In any case, CMA host Persia Tatar followed by
quipping, "That sounds like a throwdown, OMD. What's up?"

To be fair, the guy from Starcom Mediavest Group ended his acceptance speech for client Montana Office of Tourism with an open invitation to all of us to vacation in Montana. Ms. Rasimas, echoed those sentiments with an devilish glint in her eye, clearly going for the laugh, which she got. Perhaps she was perhaps inspired by the SITU speech the night before. Who knows? #ObamaMoment
It's all in good fun. Someday...they'll return the favor, I'm sure. The point is all of the amazing work was recognized for its innovation and creativity our industry. Congrats to all!
After last night, I realize I need to visit both Montana & Australia.
Montalia. Or is it Austrana?
The consolidated account would be handled by OMDSMG (or SMGOMD)...
