Social media agency We Are Social has launched in Berlin with sportswear marketer Reebok as the office’s founding client. Berlin is the agency’s third new office launch in 2015, after San Francisco and Shanghai.  

The office is the agency’s eleventh globally and its second in Germany, after Munich which was set up in 2011. The agency said the Berlin office was established to help attract more of Germany’s best digital talent many of whom are based there. The agency also has a number of clients there. 

The Berlin office opens with a team of four including office lead Christopher Schmidt who had been a senior manager at the Munich office. Senior strategist Jason Rieff joins the agency from Publicis Groupe in Munich, where he was a senior digital creative.  

The Berlin team is rounded out by account manager Julian Grandke and senior account executive Jamina Schilcher, previously of Viacom in Berlin. Both were previously with Viacom in Berlin. 

The Berlin operations will be overseen by We Are Social’s managing director in Germany, Bastian Scherbeck, who will split his time between the agency’s Munich and Berlin offices.
