Zimbalist Leaves NYT For Simulmedia, Will Lead Marketing

Michael Zimbalist, a pioneer in Internet publishing and advertising, has joined Simulmedia as chief marketing officer. Zimbalist, who most recently was senior vice president-advertising products and research and development at the New York Times Co., was a co-founder of the Online Publishers Association and was its president until joining the Times Co. in 2006.

Zimbalist, who will report to Simulmedia founder and CEO Dave Morgan, will lead the company’s efforts to develop its “people-centric” model of TV audience-buying, and comes at a time when Madison Avenue is increasingly redefining the way it thinks about TV as an ad medium.
