With just three weeks to go before the official start of the 2016-2017 TV season, NBC continues to post best results when it comes to advertisers’ key 18-49 viewers for the current TV year.
For the 2015-2016 TV season, NBC now has a season-to-date average of 2.8 million 18-49 viewers; CBS is at 2.4 million; ABC, 2.2 million; and Fox, 2 million. Univision is next at 960,000 followed by
CW at 840,000 and Telemundo with 710,000. Results are from the Nielsen live program-plus-seven-day time-shifted measure, except for the most recent two-week period, which is live program-plus-same-day
viewing.
Overall, CBS posted strong results in total viewers with 9.3 million versus NBC at 8.4 million; ABC, 6.4 million; and Fox, 4.9 million.
In addition to strong
results from the Rio Olympics, NBC has gained big ratings in non-sports programming -- grabbing five of the top 10-rated results among 18-49 viewers. NBC’s reality shows “America’s
Got Talent,” “Better Late Than Ever” and “American Ninja Warrior” have been doing well.

For the most recent week ending August 28, “Talent” posted an
average 11.3 million 18-49 viewers on Tuesday and 10.6 million on Wednesday -- broadcast networks' top efforts for the week. “Better Late” was at 7.35 million; and “Warrior”
was at 7.01 million.
CBS had the next best results of the week for a broadcast network: “60 Minutes” with 8.0 million; “NCIS” at 7.4 million (an encore); “Big
Bang Theory” at 7.35 million (an encore).
In addition, CBS’ summer reality show “Big Brother” on Sunday took in 6.8 million 18-49 viewers, good for ninth place. The
show’s Wednesday edition grabbed 6.5 million in that demographics group, at 10th place.
