Video technology provider Kaltura and cloud platform Akamai Technologies, Inc. said they’ll extend their partnership with a new joint solution adding predictive content delivery to the mix,
combining Akamai’s predictive content delivery and Kaltura’s TV platform.
Previously the two companies worked together on a content deiivery network and analytics solutions.
The
partnership will facilitate predictive caching of content on devices and offer consumers more efficient downloads, enabling content to load in the background while users are on a strong WiFi
connection, the companies claim.
Video content providers can offer users their preferred content, based on each user’s profile and history, for offline viewing on any device regardless of
network connection and quality.
“The accelerated pace of content consumption on mobile devices is quickly driving service providers to find creative solutions to tackle the challenges of
both network limitations and user expectations,” stated Ron Yekutiel, Kaltura co-founder, chairman and CEO.
