WPP made another post-Brexit strategic acquisition this week, acquiring through Grey a majority stake in French digital agency Sensio. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
It’s the
second acquisition by the holding company of a European shop in as many weeks. Last week, the company
agreed to acquire Germany’s creative agency thjnk.
Both deals are part of WPP’s intention to bulk up its holdings in Europe outside the UK in the wake of Brexit. Given the
uncertainty of ongoing Brexit negotiations, WPP is placing an even stronger emphasis on growth in Western Continental Europe, which includes four of the Group's top 10 markets
worldwide: Germany, France, Italy and Spain.
Founded in 1998 Sensio is described as a full-service digital agency that offers services including
consulting, design, technology and customer acquisition.Headquartered in Paris, it has around 75 staffers currently.
Clients include Groupe PSA, AXA, E.Leclerc, Futuroscope, Häagen Dazs
and Nexity.
Sensio’s 2016 revenues were approximately $9 million.
