Daugherty To Lead ABC's New Marketing Team

ABC veteran Rebecca Daugherty is the network’s new senior executive in charge of entertainment marketing.

Daugherty has been promoted to EVP marketing for ABC Entertainment, responsible for all marketing activities for ABC’s prime time, daytime and late-night lineups -- as well as strategic planning and creative development for all on-air and off-air marketing.

Plus, Daugherty will oversee ABC Studios’ marketing efforts domestically and internationally for ABC shows that appear on other networks/platforms — including CBS, Freeform, Showtime, Netflix and Hulu.

In February, Marla Provencio, EVP of marketing/CMO at ABC Entertainment, announced her decision to leave the company after 35 years.

Daugherty had been vice president of dramas, movies and specials within the creative arena of ABC Entertainment Marketing, leading major prime-time marketing campaigns across the ABC Television Network, as well as ABC Studios shows. Previously, she worked at Fox Television.

Joining Daugherty’s new marketing team is Erin Weir, who has been promoted to SVP of marketing strategy for ABC Entertainment. Previously, she was vice president of marketing strategy, with oversight of daytime, prime time and late-night marketing.

Also being promoted is Jill Gershman -- in a new position -- as SVP of marketing creative of ABC Entertainment. She will oversee all on-air and off-air creative marketing for ABC’s prime time, daytime and late-night programming.

Since 2007, Gershman was vice president of entertainment marketing of comedy /alternative series for ABC Entertainment Group.

Two continuing senior ABC marketing executives are part of the new team: Steven Bushong, SVP of marketing operations, and Gary Shanas, vice president of media strategy/planning.
